Pacer Profile – Chandra Mark

Age: 30 (ish)

Work: Economic Development for the Province of Saskatchewan

Date Joined Pacers:  I started running with Ted Jaleta and a few other keeners in 1991.  Over the past 20 years, I have been running with him and his group when in Regina.

What running has brought to your life:  Running has helped me enjoy life by solving an infinite amount of life’s daily problems, reducing stress, feeling accomplished, keeping fit, feeling happy and proud.

Running Goal:  After a perfect training season I would like to run a sub-1hr30min half marathon.  I would also like to complete full marathon in 3hr30.  Right now I am coming back from soccer injury that laid me up for 18 months so I am just happy to be running. So happy.

Favourite Quote: I have two favourite quotes.

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." Anais Nin

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness…” Mark Twain

Bonus quote: “If something sounds contradictory, it isn’t.”

Additional bonus quote: “In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.”

Favourite running mantra:  I am not telling it because that’s how I run fast!

Other Interests:  I love spending time with my family and traveling.  Combining these two activities is my utopia.  I have traveled to over 50 countries and half of these with a family member.  My 6-year old daughter has been to 20 countries already!

I also love languages (fluent in French, Mandarin and English), reading, incorporating slight exaggerations into personality profiles, rugby, soccer, and, according to my kids, Sponge Bob Square Pants.
